Our Community Bridges Project

As part of our strong ministerial alliance in Chandler, we have undertaken to teach the Bridges out of Poverty classes.

Reducing the social costs of poverty, strengthening the workforce, and building a more prosperous and sustainable community are goals on which most communities agree. Building Bridges and “Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin’-By World”, is the curriculum for under-resourced individuals, that has helped tens of thousands of people in poverty create their own plan for stability. It is facilitated in a group setting, a 16 week course that candidates must apply and be approved for. This is a program that is working incredibly well in many other communities. Our goal is to work with the community at all levels to make a positive impact in Lincoln County. If you would like to be part of a steering Committee that works on: jobs, transportation, education, case management, housing or Advocacy, please let Shari Telleen, 258-0483, know. If you are interested in helping financially to put students through class, that will speak volumes for improving our community. Make checks out to “First Christian Church”
